Workshop Seminars serve two useful purposes. The first is essentially practical as it offers students the opportunity to work experientially with the course material and bring it life. The second is more personal in that it gives an opportunity for students to meet tutors and other students, and avoid the sense of isolation that can sometimes exist when undertaking any home study course.

Using the birth chart as an aid in counselling can be an important application of astrology but, although there are many good books on the subject of counselling, it is a skill which cannot be learned solely from the written word and requires practice in a workshop environment.

Workshops are an integral part of the syllabus of the Diploma Course in Astrological Counselling. If Counselling course students choose not to attend the workshops they are not, in any way, discouraged from completing their course but they will not be eligible for the API UK Diploma in Astrological Counselling.

There is no obligation for students studying for the Diploma in Astrology to attend workshops. However, all students of the School, regardless of which course they are studying, are encouraged to attend these for their own benefit and to extend and improve their competence in working with Astrological Psychology.

The workshop commitment for Counselling Course students will be a total of two weeks. These are offered as four separate three-day workshop components, and students are required to attend all four. Normally, students would attend two consecutive workshops during each of the two years they would be likely to be studying.

Workshops are held in the UK, and cover in-depth practical experiential work in astrological psychology and astrological counselling. Other optional seminars or workshops on specific topics are held throughout the year and are open to any student of astrology. The cost of workshops is not included in the Course fee, but we endeavour to keep costs as low as possible. Details of the workshop programme are announced each year, and members of API UK are eligible for discounts on seletced workshops. Our aim is to make workshop participation as practical a propostion as possible, particularly for overseas students, and with this in mind arrangements are kept under constant review.
