ASTROLOGY AND THE SEVEN RAYS by Bruno and Louise Huber
This is a great shame, since astrology in the United Kingdom owes a great debt to the Theosophical Society, which spawned both the Astrological Lodge of London and the Astrological Association, so it's a delight to see a book that explains the concept of the seven rays of esoteric astrology in a clear and understandable manner. The book is actually a transcript of a workshop run by the Hubers in 1998. I often find that while workshops themselves can be vibrant and exciting, the transcripts of them often make for tedious reading - not in this case however. The book is well structured and illustrated and starts off by explaining what esoteric astrology is and also shows how this links in with psychological approaches such as psychosynthesis. Subsequent chapters detail the meanings of the seven rays, finding the rays in the birth chart and how to interpret them. The book then goes on to explore the concept of transformations and putting these concepts into practice, including a meditation exercise, demonstrating that these complex esoteric ideas can be taken out of the realm of the purely theoretical and used as a valuable psychological and therapeutic too.
